24 Hours in Melbourne

Whether you have a one day layover or are in for a quick weekend escape, we’ve got plans on how you can pack your day in Melbourne! Check out down below one of our itineraries that includes scrumptious feeds, relaxing market walks and a cinema visit with a view. We’ve even included some cheeky clubs for the party animals out there!

8am – Higher Ground – Little Bourke Street

Start off your bustling day with a sophisticated breakfast at higher ground. Located opposite from Southern Cross station, it’ll be a great starting point whether you’ve just arrived from the airport or if you’re staying in the CBD. Higher ground provides some of the best nosh in town, so get in early to avoid the long lines! Whether you opt for the smoked raclette toastie or the ricotta hotcakes, you’ll be sure to enjoy it in Higher Ground’s airy space.

9am – South Melbourne Market, South Melbourne

Although the Queen Victoria Markets is an iconic institution within Melbourne, we reckon the South Melbourne Market could give it a run for its money. You can peruse the hustling alleys South Melbourne Markets and sample decadent bites of charcuterie, cheese and other specialties that lurk their halls. From fresh seafood to decadent desserts, the South markets have something for everybody! (Hot tip: Keep your eye out for market events like jazz weekends or night markets!)

1pm – The Stables of Como, South Yarra

With the sun peaking in the afternoon, it’s time to unwind after a long peruse at the markets. There’s no better (or better looking) place to be than at the Stables of Como. It’s a quiet escape in a bustling city and is the perfect place for a quick catch up or a romantic afternoon. They offer an amazing fare in their café which includes high tea and options to purchase a picnic basket for you to enjoy on their grounds. Whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed but we highly recommend their picnic baskets which include their iconic Como fried chicken and lemonade scones!

7pm – Mr Miyagi, Windsor

After some afternoon sun, it’s time to fill your belly before tonight’s activities! Mr. Miyagi brings a new take to modern Japanese food and boggles the mind of Melbourne locals themselves. Boasting an impressive cocktail collection and trendy bites, Mr Miyagi is where you want to be. Try out their salted watermelon martini, ramen gnocchi and katsu curry puffs!

9pm- Rooftop cinemas, Swanson Street

Even after a smoky and hearty dinner, the night is still young! Watching a film whilst being nestled among the skyscrapers as the sun sets is the perfect place to unwind at night. This trendy rooftop will provide everything you need for an unforgettable cinematic experience. Place yourself down on one of the deckchairs, grab yourself a swanky cocktail from the bar and drape a blanket over your lap. You’re in for one hell of a treat!

12am – Laundry Bar, Fitzroy

Are you still ready to take the town? Don’t worry, the night is still young! From Thursday to Saturday, Laundry Bar in Fitzroy turns its space into a rap and hip hop mecca. This busy bar will keep the night pumping until the early hours of the morning. Laundry always brings the good vibes, fresh beats and even booth packages if you’ve got the bills to burn!

3am – La Di Da, Little Bourke Street

Still down to party in the early hours of the morning? Damn, that’s hardcore, but don’t worry! We’ve got something for you. Stoll on down to La Di Da, where the party just doesn’t stop on the weekends. This nightclub is like Havana on steroids and has everything you need to end a killer night in Melbourne. Whether you want to keep the night alive, have a bar snack, or guzzle down some last drinks, La Di Da is the place for you

7am – Lune Crossainterie, Fitzroy

After a hard day and night of taking on Melbourne, end it with what is arguably one of the best croissants in the world. With people flying in from all of the country to get a taste of their flaky and buttery croissants, Lune Crossainterie is a must eat on your day in Melbourne. End your long day with a crisp croissant or a decadent cruffin. You deserve it! But be quick, they only open until 12!

After spending 24 hours in an eclectic city, you must be tired! Of course, you don’t have to spend all day out until the sun comes back up, so why not check out our Melbourne properties for your stay?
